Senior Customer Lead National Security (London)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential innovation consultancy that works at the intersection of government, industry, and emerging technology. Our client is seeking a Senior Customer Lead to drive their National Security practice in London and the surrounding region.

This is a strategic account management role focused on building partnerships with government clients in the National Security sector. You'll lead the full lifecycle of client engagement—from prospecting and proposal development through to delivery and long-term relationship management. The successful candidate will combine commercial acumen with deep government sector insight, translating policy trends and funding priorities into sustainable revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as account lead for National Security clients in London and the wider region, managing relationships from initial prospecting through delivery and ongoing satisfaction
• Maintain highly visible presence with existing clients to strengthen brand reputation and identify new opportunities
• Drive net-new business development, broadening engagement across client business units and securing material contracts
• Expand partnerships with the National Security supplier ecosystem to create new revenue opportunities and market routes
• Develop, refine, and market new propositions alongside the wider National Security and Defence team
• Contribute expert insights on customer needs and procurement trends to inform team strategy
• Support the evolution of go-to-market processes and business development maturation

What We're Looking For

Essential experience and skills:

• Proven track record of selling and winning new business in the National Security sector
• Demonstrable experience working directly with National Security clients located in London, including client delivery and relationship-based sales
• Valid SC clearance (essential); DV clearance preferred; National Security sponsorship preferred
• Experience working with partners to shape and deliver consortium bids and strategic opportunities
• Strong understanding of National Security sector procurement and commercial processes
• Strong commercial acumen including opportunity shaping, negotiation, and deal strategy
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop rapport and understand client needs
• Strategic thinking capability to understand long-term trends and develop credible propositions
• Ability to operate autonomously as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively in team settings

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience with technology adoption, innovation ecosystems, or organisational change in government, especially National Security contexts
• Demonstrable success securing and growing contracts valued at £1m+ and/or multi-year engagements

This position is located in London and requires eligibility to achieve minimum SC clearance due to the nature of the work and client engagements.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £80,000 - £100,000 depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits through the client include annual bonus scheme, generous pension scheme (up to 10% company contribution), private healthcare, life assurance and critical illness cover, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and volunteering day.
