Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential government contracting firm that delivers professional services and IT solutions to federal agencies. Our talent team is seeking a Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting accessibility compliance for federal clients.

Responsibilities

• Remediate digital documents to meet Section 508 accessibility standards and WCAG guidelines
• Convert PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials into accessible formats
• Apply proper document structure, tagging, alternative text, and reading order
• Test remediated documents using assistive technologies and compliance validation tools
• Document remediation processes and maintain quality assurance standards
• Collaborate with federal agency stakeholders on accessibility requirements
• Support ongoing accessibility compliance initiatives across multiple projects

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience with Section 508 compliance and document accessibility remediation
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro for PDF accessibility tagging and remediation
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.0/2.1 standards and federal accessibility requirements
• Experience creating accessible documents in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Familiarity with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, or similar screen readers
• Detail-oriented approach with strong quality control capabilities
• Experience supporting federal government clients is strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
