Android Developer – AI Finance Agent

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization building next-generation AI-powered financial products. Our client is focused on making finance accessible, intelligent, and user-friendly through mobile-first experiences. They operate globally with distributed teams and are looking for talented Android engineers to join their growing product development organization.

This is a remote role based in the Philippines. You'll be building native Android experiences for an AI-powered financial platform, working on features spanning insurance, payments, and personal finance management.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Android features using Kotlin for financial services applications
• Create intuitive mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims processing, and financial transactions
• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify complex user journeys
• Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile experiences are stable, secure, and reliable
• Optimize app performance including crash rate reduction, loading states, responsiveness, and memory management
• Leverage analytics and user behavior data to continuously improve the product
• Implement AI-assisted mobile experiences that genuinely enhance user workflows

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin
• Proven track record shipping production Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns
• Deep understanding of mobile UX principles, usability considerations, and edge case handling
• Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
• Ability to execute quickly with high ownership and attention to product quality
• Portfolio demonstrating shipped work (app links, GitHub, or screenshots strongly preferred)
• Strong English communication skills for working with global teams

Tech stack includes: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Coroutines & Flow, SQL/NoSQL databases, TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference

The ideal candidate: thinks in complete user journeys rather than isolated screens, cares deeply about making complex financial products feel simple, moves quickly while maintaining clean code, proactively identifies UX and performance issues, and communicates honestly about their individual contributions and impact.

This role is not suitable for: engineers who require fully-defined tickets, developers who don't consider user experience beyond implementation, those who overlook crashes or edge cases, engineers uncomfortable with startup pace, or candidates who cannot clearly articulate their specific contributions to past projects.
