SAP ABAP Developer (S/4HANA)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join their team on a fully remote basis. This full-time W2 position offers strong career growth potential within an established enterprise environment.

Our client operates large-scale SAP landscapes and requires a developer with deep S/4HANA expertise to design, develop, and support custom enhancements, integrations, and reports. You'll work through the full development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and technical design through coding, testing, performance tuning, and post-go-live support—collaborating closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom ABAP solutions within S/4HANA environments, following clean-core principles to minimize technical debt
• Build and maintain CDS views, AMDPs, and HANA-optimized ABAP code
• Create OData services and support Fiori application integrations
• Implement enhancements using BADIs, user exits, and enhancement frameworks
• Develop integrations using IDoc, RFC, BAPI, and Web Services
• Perform performance tuning using SAT, ST05, and HANA diagnostic tools
• Support transport management, change control, and solution documentation
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-implementation support

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 8+ years of professional ABAP development experience
• 5+ years working specifically with S/4HANA
• Strong hands-on expertise with ABAP OO, CDS views, AMDPs, and HANA-optimized ABAP
• Proven experience building OData services and integrating with Fiori applications
• Solid experience with enhancement frameworks (BADIs, user exits, implicit/explicit enhancements)
• Strong background with integration technologies (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services)
• Understanding of SAP module data structures (FI/CO, SD, MM, or PP)
• Experience with performance tuning and HANA diagnostic tools
• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and transport management
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
• Authorization to work in the United States (U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates welcome; new H-1B sponsorship not available)

Preferred:

• Experience with S/4HANA system conversions or greenfield implementations
• Exposure to SAP BTP, ABAP RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), or steampunk
• Hands-on Fiori/UI5 development experience
• Familiarity with SAP CPI or Integration Suite
• SAP ABAP developer certification

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $90,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
