About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading federal technology integrator seeking a Sales Engineer III - Federal to join their growing team. This is a remote position within the United States, with the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance required. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of federal contracts.

Our client is a transformative IT services organization specializing in complex technology solutions for highly regulated government environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic sales support, focusing on data center modernization, AI-ready infrastructure, zero trust security, and digital transformation initiatives within the federal sector.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead working alongside federal account executives to scope solutions, develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), and create Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Develop and position AI-ready infrastructure solutions spanning facility design, compute architecture, networking, platform orchestration, and governance across multi-vendor federal landscapes
  • Create security solutions and go-to-market materials covering Zero Trust Architecture, cybersecurity compliance automation, security operations, and GRC program development
  • Design digital transformation solutions connecting strategic roadmapping with technical execution patterns, including application modernization, DevSecOps, and digital engineering automation
  • Lead customer-facing enterprise network technical activities, including assessments, secure hybrid architectures, and data center modernization roadmaps
  • Develop demonstration playbooks and sales training leveraging experience with multiple OEM vendor technologies (Cisco UCS, Nutanix, Nexus, NVIDIA)
  • Read, understand, and respond to Federal RFQs, RFIs, Market Research Requests, and RFPs with technical scoping and level-of-effort validation
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships within strategic federal accounts to improve mission and system performance
  • Deliver assessments, solutions presentations, training sessions, and webinars to federal customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline sales engineering processes and recommend improvements

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 10+ years in sales engineering or solutions architecture; 14+ years preferred with demonstrated leadership in enterprise network architecture assessments, design, and implementation
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret clearance preferred; ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
  • Deep expertise in data center technologies, AI infrastructure, zero trust security frameworks, and digital transformation methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of federal contracting processes including engineering estimates, quotes, and proposal responses
  • Experience with multiple OEM vendor technologies and developing multi-vendor competitive solutions
  • Proven ability to create technical roadmaps that support revenue and profit margin growth
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both engineering teams and C-level executives
  • Consultative approach with strong collaboration skills bridging sales and technical services teams
  • Experience developing go-to-market collateral, positioning materials, and sales enablement content

Pay

The estimated compensation range for this position is $150,000–$220,000 USD annually, based on experience, skill set, location, and performance. This position may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
