Safety Coordinator

The Opportunity

As Safety Coordinator at our Norman, OK location, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety initiatives that protect our employees and support operational excellence. You'll work alongside plant leadership and frontline teams to identify hazards, address risks, and foster an environment where safety is everyone's priority. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive workplace safety programs and protocols
• Perform regular site inspections and hazard assessments across facility operations
• Conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees at all levels
• Document and investigate workplace incidents to determine causes and preventive measures
• Ensure facility compliance with OSHA requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and compliance documentation
• Work with management to develop corrective action plans and safety improvements
• Organize safety recognition programs and communication initiatives to promote safety engagement
• Manage and inspect emergency response systems, first aid equipment, and safety devices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in occupational safety, environmental health, or related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety coordinator, safety officer, or related safety role
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory safety compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train and educate diverse groups
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities
• Ability to conduct walkthroughs and assessments, including working in varied facility environments
• Current valid driver's license
