About the Role
As a Respiratory Therapist at Mercy, you'll provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across our healthcare system. You'll work directly with physicians and nursing teams to implement evidence-based respiratory treatments, monitor therapy effectiveness, and serve as a clinical resource for respiratory care decisions. Your expertise will directly improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physician orders
- Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of respiratory therapies and recommend adjustments as needed
- Provide expert clinical guidance to nursing staff and physicians on respiratory care best practices
- Monitor patient vital signs and respiratory status to ensure treatment efficacy and patient safety
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and department operations
What We're Looking For
- Valid Oklahoma Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
- Strong foundation in respiratory physiology, pathophysiology, and clinical therapeutics
- Experience with respiratory care equipment, ventilator management, and patient assessment
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills with physicians, nurses, and patients
- Ability to work effectively in a patient-focused, interdisciplinary healthcare environment
- Commitment to quality patient care and continuous professional development
