Dartmouth College is seeking an experienced, student-centered professional to join its residential life team as an Assistant Director, Residential Education, a full-time, on-campus position based in Hanover, Grafton County, New Hampshire.
About the Role
As the Assistant Director, Residential Education at Dartmouth College, you will help shape an inclusive, engaging on-campus living environment where students thrive both personally and academically. This Hanover-based role partners closely with colleagues across residential life to advance living learning programs, support student development, and strengthen community within the residence halls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and assess living learning programs that enrich the residential student experience.
- Support the day-to-day operations of residential education and contribute to a welcoming hall community.
- Use campus systems and platforms — including StarRez, Maxient, CampusGroups, and Canvas — to manage housing, conduct, engagement, and educational programming.
- Maintain accurate records and clear communication through tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Google Drive.
- Collaborate with student affairs partners to promote student well-being, belonging, and success.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or a closely related field, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
- Hands-on familiarity with platforms including StarRez, Maxient, CampusGroups, and Canvas, as well as Microsoft Outlook and Google Drive.
- Demonstrated experience supporting living learning programs and residential communities.
