Registered Nurse Newborn Nursery PRN

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Newborn Nursery, you'll provide specialized care to newborns during their critical early hours and days of life. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient outcomes and family experiences during one of life's most important moments.

What You'll Do

• Assess newborn health status and monitor vital signs, growth, and development
• Perform routine newborn care including feeding support, bathing, and cord care
• Educate parents on newborn care, feeding methods, and postpartum adjustment
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other care team members to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and nursing documentation
• Support breastfeeding initiatives and lactation support
• Identify and respond promptly to any changes in newborn condition

What We're Looking For

• Current Texas RN licensure and valid professional nursing credentials
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Experience working with newborns or in maternal-child health preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
• Compassion for families during the postpartum period
• Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice
