Program Manager-Philanthropy, Major Gifts

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a full-time remote Program Manager for Philanthropy and Major Gifts to lead transformational fundraising initiatives across our Chicago-based organization. Role Overview

As Program Manager for Philanthropy and Major Gifts, you'll serve as a strategic leader in Northwestern Memorial Healthcare's development department, overseeing major donor portfolios and stewarding transformational giving campaigns. Working remotely from anywhere, you'll connect deeply with donors who share our commitment to advancing healthcare excellence in Chicago and beyond. Your focus will be on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift opportunities that align with our institutional priorities and donor passions.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute major gifts strategies that identify and cultivate relationships with high-capacity donors
• Manage a portfolio of major donors, conducting regular stewardship visits and engagement activities
• Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to donor interests and philanthropic goals
• Collaborate with clinical leaders, senior executives, and institutional advancement colleagues to create giving opportunities
• Track donor interactions, giving history, and engagement metrics within our database systems
• Coordinate solicitation activities and close major gift commitments
• Provide comprehensive stewardship and recognition for major donors

Qualifications

• Proven experience in major gifts fundraising or nonprofit development
• Demonstrated success closing major gifts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with donor database and CRM systems
• Strong understanding of healthcare philanthropy and donor motivation
• Ability to build authentic relationships with individuals and boards
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
