Product Designer (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential geospatial technology organization seeking a Product Designer to join their design team in Berlin. In this role, you will be the dedicated design partner for a cross-functional product team, working closely with Product Managers and engineers to transform early concepts into production-ready features.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Taking design work from initial concept through to delivery, proposing solutions to blockers rather than simply flagging issues
• Serving as the primary design partner for your product team, becoming the first point of contact for design decisions
• Designing for complexity: dense data tables, long-running processes, and workflows where edge cases are as important as primary user paths
• Conducting user research and gathering evidence before designing, including user interviews, support ticket analysis, usage data review, and usability testing
• Challenging briefs that arrive pre-shaped as solutions, focusing first on understanding the underlying problem
• Scoping your own features, breaking them into deliverable pieces, estimating timelines accurately, and communicating delays proactively with contingency plans
• Contributing to the design system: proposing and building components, not just consuming them
• Sharing work cross-functionally, incorporating feedback iteratively, and proactively identifying improvements within your product area

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end product design work within cross-functional teams
• Strong interaction design (IxD) and visual/UI design skills, with particular ability to make complex data and workflows comprehensible
• Expert-level Figma skills and working knowledge of design system architecture: component structure, behavior, and governance. You will actively contribute to maintaining the system
• Experience using research and product evidence (usability tests, customer conversations, support data, analytics) to inform design decisions
• Ability to distinguish between validated knowledge and assumptions, and communicate that distinction clearly
• Comfort working with ambiguity: making progress with incomplete information and adapting when new insights change direction
• Ability to scope your own work and communicate honestly about timelines
• Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and proactive problem-solving approach
• Fluency in English and Berlin-based with ability to work hybrid

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience designing enterprise, data-heavy B2B products or geospatial applications
• Background in UX research, data visualization, or complex workflow design
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Experience with interactive prototyping
• Awareness of AI tools and their application in UX processes, with understanding of how to enhance user outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity
