Praktikant (m/w/d) – M&A & Buy-and-Build

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential private equity firm in Berlin seeking an intern to support M&A and buy-and-build activities. You will gain hands-on experience across the full investment lifecycle, working closely with senior team members on mid-market transactions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the investment team throughout the entire M&A process for mid-market private equity transactions
• Identifying, screening, and researching potential acquisition targets as part of buy-and-build strategies
• Assisting with investment scenario modeling, financial models, and company valuations
• Conducting independent quantitative and qualitative analyses during due diligence of potential acquisition targets
• Maintaining and developing a qualified deal pipeline throughout the M&A and buy-and-build strategy process
• Preparing market, competitive, and company analyses as well as decision-making materials

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a current university student with the following qualifications:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program (minimum 4 completed semesters) or Master's program in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field
• Prior practical experience in private equity, corporate finance, M&A, or management consulting
• Professional presence with strong analytical and entrepreneurial thinking
• Operational strength, quick comprehension, and the ability to recognize economic and technical relationships
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken

The internship is expected to start in October 2026 with a minimum duration of three months. This role offers the opportunity to take on responsibility from day one in a flat organizational structure with direct collaboration alongside leadership.
