No prior AI experience is required—your deep knowledge of magnetic materials and experimental techniques is what matters most.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret magnetic structure factors using propagation-vector methodologies and advanced symmetry concepts in condensed matter physics
• Identify and classify magnetic phases (including antiferromagnetic, ferromagnetic, and related types) using theoretical and experimental data, including neutron diffraction results
• Curate and validate magnetic space group assignments with reference to established datasets, ensuring robust correlation with BNS notation conventions
• Evaluate birefringence and magneto-optic Kerr effect signatures for selected materials, connecting optical phenomena to underlying magnetic structure
• Contribute high-quality, expert-level input that will shape how AI models learn and reason about complex physics problems

What We're Looking For

• PhD or equivalent research experience in condensed matter physics, with specialization in magnetism or related fields
• Demonstrated proficiency in magnetic structure factor calculations, propagation-vector analysis, and symmetry-based phase identification
• Direct hands-on experience classifying magnetic space groups and familiarity with MAGNDATA and BNS notation
• Strong knowledge of neutron scattering techniques for magnetic structure determination
• Ability to connect experimental signatures (such as birefringence and MOKE) to underlying physical mechanisms
• Available for remote contractor engagement
