About the Role

As a Patient Placement Associate at Highmark Health's South Erie campus, you'll be responsible for managing patient bed assignments and maintaining our facility's bed control operations. You'll work within a collaborative healthcare environment where your organizational skills and attention to detail directly impact patient care delivery and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate patient placements into appropriate bed assignments based on physician orders, clinical requirements, and patient preferences
• Work with the EPIC electronic health record system to maintain accurate patient demographic information and bed control metrics
• Collaborate with nursing, admissions, discharge, and clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow and appropriate care coordination
• Monitor real-time bed availability and occupancy status across the facility
• Process placement requests and coordinate with multiple departments to facilitate timely patient placements
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all bed placement activities
• Support patient and family communication regarding room assignments and facility policies

What We're Looking For

• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic health record systems, or strong ability to learn healthcare technology
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills in a dynamic environment
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinical staff and patients
• Accuracy and attention to detail when managing patient information and records
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare experience preferred
