About the Role
As Principal Power Generation Engineer, you'll own the technical direction of gas power generation initiatives, leading the intersection of cost management and growth strategy. This leadership role requires deep expertise in power generation systems, combined with the business acumen to identify and execute opportunities that strengthen our competitive position in wholesale electricity markets.
What You'll Do
- Design and optimize gas-fired power generation systems and operating procedures to reduce costs while maintaining reliability and performance
- Develop technical roadmaps and capital plans that align generation assets with market growth opportunities
- Lead cross-functional teams to analyze generation efficiency, fuel procurement strategy, and operational metrics
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for generation upgrades, retrofits, or new deployments
- Collaborate with plant operations, engineering, and business teams to implement improvements that enhance profitability and market competitiveness
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in power generation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
- 10+ years of experience in power generation, thermal systems, or energy infrastructure
- Demonstrated expertise in gas turbine or combined-cycle generation systems
- Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to influence across organizations
- Proficiency in engineering software, data analysis, and technical communication
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent credibility in the energy sector
