Multigres Deployment Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential database platform company seeking a Multigres Deployment Engineer to own the deployment and operational infrastructure of their distributed Postgres platform. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Our client is building cutting-edge distributed database technology, and you'll be responsible for building and maintaining the Kubernetes operator that orchestrates these deployments, ensuring reliable cloud infrastructure, and creating the tooling that powers their platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a Go-based Kubernetes operator that orchestrates distributed Postgres deployments
• Design and implement robust deployment patterns for EKS and other Kubernetes platforms
• Work with CSI drivers, persistent volumes, and cross-cloud networking to ensure data reliability and connectivity
• Create internal tools and automation for provisioning, scaling, and managing distributed database clusters
• Build monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic capabilities into the deployment layer
• Collaborate with database engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver seamless deployment experiences

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong systems programming skills with proficiency in Go and experience building production-grade operators or controllers
• Deep Kubernetes expertise with hands-on experience in Kubernetes internals, custom resources, and cloud-managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS)
• Understanding of database deployment patterns, backup/restore, replication, and high availability
• Familiarity with distributed systems, consensus protocols, failure scenarios, and designing for resilience
• Experience with cloud-native deployment tooling, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi), and cloud provider APIs
• Track record of building reliable, observable, and maintainable production systems

Nice to have:

• Experience with CSI storage drivers and storage orchestration in Kubernetes
• Knowledge of cross-cloud networking tools like Cilium, Istio, or similar service mesh technologies
• Prior work with sharded query serving systems
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
