Microsoft Data Platform Administrator

Join Freudenberg as a Microsoft Data Platform Administrator in one of our two locations. We're seeking an experienced data professional to lead the administration, optimization, and security of our enterprise data infrastructure built on Microsoft technologies.

The Opportunity

Freudenberg is looking for a dedicated Microsoft Data Platform Administrator to take ownership of our data platform operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our data systems run reliably, securely, and efficiently while supporting the analytical and operational needs of teams across the organization. This is an opportunity to work with enterprise-scale data architecture, contribute to strategic initiatives, and grow your expertise in modern cloud and on-premises data technologies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server instances, Azure SQL Database, and related Microsoft data platforms across our infrastructure
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability
• Manage user access, security policies, and backup/recovery procedures in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
• Support data migration projects and coordinate with development teams to deploy database changes
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans, conduct testing, and document procedures
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and application teams to understand infrastructure needs and provide technical guidance
• Stay current with Microsoft data platform updates and evaluate new features for organizational adoption

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience administering SQL Server and/or Azure SQL environments in production settings
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup strategies, and performance tuning
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, and Azure administration tools
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and infrastructure fundamentals
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to document processes clearly and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Certification such as Microsoft SQL Server Administrator or Azure Administrator is valued
