Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine

Promedica is hiring a Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine for our Toledo location. This is a full-time position supporting our internal medicine clinical team in delivering quality patient care.

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant in Internal Medicine at Promedica, you'll be a key member of our clinical team, working directly with physicians and patients in a busy internal medicine practice. You'll handle a mix of clinical and administrative duties that keep our patient care flowing smoothly and ensure every patient receives attentive support from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vital signs and record them accurately in the electronic health record
• Conduct initial patient intake, including medical history and reason for visit
• Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians during patient consultations
• Process insurance information and verify patient eligibility
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the daily calendar
• Communicate with patients regarding test results and follow-up care
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA protocols in all patient interactions

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant certification (CCMA or CMA) or equivalent clinical experience
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical office software
• Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Reliable attendance and commitment to team collaboration
