Legal Counsel – Privacy and Product

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a fast-growing visual technology company in their search for a Legal Counsel specializing in Privacy and Product. This Paris-based role offers the chance to join as the second legal hire, working directly with senior leadership to shape privacy compliance and commercial contracting across a global user base.

Our client serves millions of users worldwide and partners with major enterprise customers. You'll take ownership of GDPR operations, embed privacy-by-design principles into product development, and support the sales team with day-to-day contracting needs.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end GDPR compliance operations, including data subject requests, registry of processing activities, DPAs, privacy policies, DPIAs, and LIAs
• Partner with ML and engineering teams to ensure data processing and server-side practices comply with privacy regulations by design
• Monitor developments under GDPR and international privacy laws, assess business impact, and proactively brief relevant teams
• Own commercial contracting day-to-day: review, draft, and negotiate sales agreements independently for the sales team
• Support the Head of Legal across trademark registrations, corporate matters, labour law, and public affairs as the business scales
• Grow into the Data Protection Officer role as the privacy program matures

What We're Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of legal experience in data protection/privacy (internships excluded), either at a top-tier or tech-focused law firm or in-house at a technology company, ideally a SaaS startup or scale-up
• Proven experience drafting compliance documentation such as DPAs, DPIAs, and LIAs
• Comfort managing a steady volume of commercial and sales contracts with the ability to review, draft, and negotiate independently
• Master's degree in law (bar admission is a plus but not required)
• Fluency in both French and English, with strong drafting and negotiation skills in both languages
• Business partner mindset: you provide practical, commercially-aware legal advice and know when timely clarity beats theoretical perfection
• Ability to work credibly with technical teams, including ML, infrastructure, and engineering
• Comfort in an async, remote-friendly, fast-moving environment; you manage multiple workstreams independently and communicate proactively
• Familiarity with AI technologies and the EU AI Act is ideal, though we value your ability to learn quickly

This is a Paris-based position requiring three days per week in the office. Relocation support within Europe is available.
