About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential education technology organization in their search for a Lead Software Developer. This is a remote opportunity based in the United States.
Our client is seeking a technical leader who can drive architectural decisions, mentor engineering teams, and deliver modern cloud solutions. You'll work at the intersection of hands-on development and team leadership, advancing platforms that serve students, faculty, and administrators in the higher education space.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, implementation, and operation of scalable, secure solutions across Microsoft Azure and Power Platform
- Perform hands-on development for software applications across the technology catalog
- Provide leadership to product development teams, including daily standups to maintain alignment and momentum
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for reliable, automated deployments
- Conduct hands-on prototyping, code review, and mentorship for software engineers across development teams
- Champion adoption of AI-assisted development practices, including Github Copilot and agentic designs
- Collaborate with product owners and team leads to plan, prioritize, and deliver work across multiple concurrent projects
- Ensure security, compliance, performance, and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of automated quality control processes
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise solutions with a proven history of leading successful cloud and platform initiatives
- 5+ years designing and implementing cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, and related Microsoft technologies
- 5+ years leading software engineering teams and technical projects, including mentoring engineers and driving execution across multiple workstreams
- Senior-level experience architecting and delivering enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure and Power Platform
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including project, team, process, and board configuration
- Deep expertise in Azure DevOps CI/CD, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code
- Practical experience delivering AI and machine learning solutions in Microsoft Azure, including Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI Services
- Proven success leading agile and scrum teams and driving iterative delivery
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure, App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API integrations, Azure Storage, SQL Server, and Azure SQL
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI, Fabric, custom connectors
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies: Azure Pipelines, YAML configuration, Git, pull request workflows, Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform
- Proficiency in C#,.NET, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST APIs, and modern service integration patterns
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Copilot, and agent-based solution design
- Knowledge of Azure security and governance: Key Vault, Managed Identity, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, policy management, and compliance-oriented design
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Technology, Mathematics, or Statistics
Preferred:
- Understanding of the higher education and post-secondary education sector
