About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology client seeking Korean language specialists for a freelance AI training project. This remote contract role is ideal for linguistic experts who want to apply their deep knowledge of Korean to shape the next generation of language models.
Our client is building advanced AI systems that require rigorous evaluation by native-level Korean language professionals. You'll work directly with language models, testing their understanding of grammar, syntax, morphology, phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics. Your expertise will identify failure modes and guide improvements in how AI handles the Korean language.
Responsibilities
- Engage with advanced language models on complex Korean language scenarios, including honorifics, sentence structure, verb conjugation, and word order
- Test model performance across regional dialects, idiomatic expressions, and script variations
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model outputs
- Document reproducible error traces and failure modes with clear, detailed analysis
- Provide recommendations for prompt engineering and evaluation metric improvements
- Demonstrate metacognitive communication by clearly explaining your reasoning and methodology
What We're Looking For
- Native or near-native fluency in Korean with expert-level understanding of linguistic principles
- Deep knowledge of Korean grammar, syntax, morphology, phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics
- Real-world experience in linguistics—peer-reviewed publications, teaching experience, or hands-on linguistic analysis projects strongly preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and metacognitively, showing your analytical work
- Mid to senior-level professional experience
- Located in South Korea
- Access to a secure computer and reliable high-speed internet
- No formal degree required; demonstrated expertise and practical experience are what matter
