About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization working on integration platforms for the electric vehicle sector in the Middle East. We're seeking a Java Developer who thrives on understanding how distributed systems communicate and enjoys investigating complex integration challenges.
This is a remote position focused on building and maintaining integrations between multiple services. You'll work extensively with APIs, message queues, authentication systems, and infrastructure troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is someone who gets energized by reading logs, tracing requests across systems, and solving connectivity issues.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement integration APIs aligned with business requirements
- Conduct technical analyses to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Create API specifications and contracts to guide development work
- Design and develop data transformation logic for complex integration scenarios
- Apply integration best practices to build scalable and reusable connectivity layers
- Configure and manage API policies and security controls
- Deploy integrations across cloud and on-premise environments
- Implement CI/CD automation to improve development workflows
- Participate in production support rotation during initial months, including evening shifts and weekend coverage (with additional compensation provided)
- Troubleshoot issues in distributed systems using logs, monitoring tools, and diagnostic techniques
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of commercial Java development experience
- Strong understanding of REST/HTTP protocols
- Ability to read and work with OpenAPI specifications
- Hands-on experience with message queues
- Basic Kubernetes knowledge: kubectl, pod logs, namespaces
- Understanding of TLS, keystores/truststores, JKS/PKCS12, and certificate chains
- Experience working with JSON and XML data formats
- Understanding of data transformation patterns between systems
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK, Splunk, or similar platforms
- Understanding of OAuth2 and token-based authentication, including client credentials, refresh tokens, and HTTP status codes (401 vs 403)
- Practical experience with Log4j/Log4j2, including log levels, configuration, and output patterns
- Understanding of JVM fundamentals: heap memory, garbage collection, thread dumps, heap dumps, and common OutOfMemory issues
- Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed system environments
- Good English communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with MuleSoft or other integration platforms
- Enterprise integration experience
- Production support background
- Understanding of microservices architecture patterns
- Experience in fintech, automotive, manufacturing, or complex enterprise environments
