About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Japanese Language Specialist for remote contract work. This is a part-time, fully remote role supporting AI safety initiatives through expert-level language evaluation and content classification.
Location: Japan (or wider East Asia region preferred)
Type: Part-time contract
Schedule: Asynchronous, work independently
Responsibilities
- Write and evaluate expert-level prompts in Japanese across a range of sensitive subject areas
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations with precision
- Identify and flag adversarial phrasings and escalation patterns in AI interactions
- Document clear reasoning behind your judgments and classifications
- Work independently to evaluate and strengthen AI model performance on sensitive topics
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Native or near-native fluency in Japanese
- Business-level written English proficiency
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)
- Strong written reasoning skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Sound judgment when handling sensitive and dual-use information
Preferred:
- Based in Japan or the wider East Asia region
- Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content
- Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing
