IT Infrastructure Engineer (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential service organization in Northern Germany seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent position. In this role, you will take responsibility for the operation, optimization, and development of IT infrastructure with a focus on networking, cloud, and virtualization.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Managing and optimizing server and client environments as well as virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Providing 2nd and 3rd level support for complex infrastructure issues and serving as technical point of contact during incidents
• Administering and advancing the Windows domain including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services
• Operating and developing the Microsoft 365 environment (Entra ID, Exchange, Teams) and cloud resources in Azure
• Ensuring operational stability of core network components including firewall, VPN, switching, routing, and VLAN
• Automating administrative processes using PowerShell to increase efficiency
• Planning and executing infrastructure projects such as migrations, rollouts, and system implementations
• Coordinating external service providers and ensuring SLA compliance

What We're Looking For

• Extensive professional experience (5+ years) in system administration with emphasis on Windows Server, Active Directory, and core network services (DNS, DHCP)
• Strong command of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams including telephony, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Entra ID
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, switching, VLAN, routing, VPN, and firewall technologies
• Proven experience implementing infrastructure projects including migrations, rollouts, and system deployments
• Excellent German and English language skills for communication with international teams and external partners
• High degree of initiative, proactivity, and sense of responsibility along with a strong hands-on mentality
