IRS26164 Product Manager Dryland Crops Program (Internationally recruited)

Seeking a Product Manager for the Dryland Crops Program at CIMMYT in Nairobi, Nairobi County, Kenya. Join our mission to improve food security and agricultural productivity in arid and semi-arid regions.

Position Summary

• Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for the Dryland Crops Program in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Drive product innovation and market analysis to identify and capitalize on new opportunities in the dryland crops sector.
• Manage a team of researchers and extension officers to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
• Represent CIMMYT in international forums and build partnerships to enhance program outreach and impact.
• Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement comprehensive product strategies for dryland crops, focusing on innovation and market relevance.
• Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs and competitive landscapes.
• Lead the team in research and development activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and collaborate with local and international partners to enhance program impact.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on program progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in agriculture, plant breeding, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in product management or a similar role within the agricultural sector.
• Strong understanding of dryland crop systems and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in another relevant language is an asset.
