Role Overview
As HR Manager at CIMMYT, you will oversee end-to-end human resources operations for our Delhi-based team. Your focus will be on recruitment, employee development, compliance, and creating a positive workplace culture that attracts and retains top talent. This role bridges CIMMYT's global standards with local practices, ensuring our people strategies support our agricultural research mission and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for all staff levels, working with hiring managers to identify and attract qualified candidates
- Administer compensation, benefits, payroll compliance, and employee records in accordance with Indian labour law and organisational policy
- Develop and implement employee engagement programmes, training initiatives, and career development opportunities
- Handle employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including statutory reporting, audits, and record-keeping requirements
- Maintain HR systems, data integrity, and confidentiality across personnel files and organisational records
- Collaborate with leadership to design and communicate HR policies that support organisational growth and values alignment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of HR management experience in India or a similarly regulated organisational setting
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance requirements
- Proven recruitment and employee relations experience across multiple roles and departments
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with teams across the organisation
