Investment Associate/Manager Private Markets (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential financial services organization seeking an Investment Associate or Manager for their private markets portfolio. In this role, you will play a central part in managing and developing alternative investment solutions, including closed-end fund structures and retail-accessible vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with strategic partners and service providers on fund construction, oversight, and reporting
• Monitoring portfolio construction, conducting portfolio analyses, market screening, and benchmarking
• Serving as the primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding private markets
• Actively contributing to the expansion of the product portfolio in alternative investments
• Participating in the development and implementation of AI-driven strategies, particularly through identifying and automating relevant processes
• Leading and contributing to diverse projects focused on innovation and scalability
• Taking comprehensive ownership of your products, including actively shaping and monitoring operational processes
• Managing regular product and portfolio reporting in collaboration with partners
• Working cross-functionally with technology, product, compliance, operations, and marketing teams
• Supporting the development of communication concepts for end clients and external media

What We're Looking For

Experience and Education:

• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience for Associate level; minimum four years for Manager level
• Ideally from management consulting focused on financial services, investment teams at asset managers or advisors (family offices, wealth managers, PE/VC specialists), or comparable roles in the financial sector
• Successfully completed Master's degree from a leading university, preferably in economics with a focus on finance, management, or a quantitative discipline

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of macroeconomic relationships and financial market mechanics
• Knowledge of characteristics across different asset classes, particularly in private markets
• Experience analyzing target funds and investment managers; familiarity with ELTIF structures is advantageous
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style with experience managing and executing projects
• Practical experience with AI-supported processes and strong interest in further developing these capabilities
• Hands-on mentality with strong attention to detail and conscientious work approach
• Proactive in identifying and optimizing inefficient processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in German and English required

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with Berlin market rates for this level of experience and responsibility.
