Guidehouse seeks an Information Security Communication Specialist to join its Washington, D.C. office in a full-time role supporting federal law enforcement's cybersecurity mission. About the Role

This position bridges cybersecurity expertise and strategic communication to strengthen how a major federal law enforcement organization conveys its information security programs and policies. Working within the Chief Information Officer's office, you'll connect security practitioners with diverse audiences—from executive leadership to technical teams—ensuring that critical security initiatives are understood, adopted, and sustained across the agency. No travel is required. An active Top Secret security clearance is mandatory for this position.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop technical documentation, policy briefs, and security program guides that distill complex cybersecurity concepts for multiple audience levels
  • Create communication strategies and messaging frameworks to support the rollout of new security initiatives, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with security engineers, program managers, and leadership to identify communication needs and gaps across the enterprise information security program
  • Draft and edit materials including training content, awareness campaigns, internal announcements, and stakeholder briefings
  • Research cybersecurity trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to inform organizational communications

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing, particularly in security, IT, or compliance domains
  • Strong ability to translate specialized technical concepts into clear, persuasive prose for non-specialist audiences
  • Working knowledge of information security fundamentals and familiarity with federal compliance frameworks such as NIST or FISMA
  • Excellent research, editing, and project management skills with a proven track record of delivering polished, deadline-driven work
  • Current eligibility for or ability to obtain an active Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field
