Industrial Electrician

Join Mezzetta as a full-time Industrial Electrician in American Canyon, California, where you'll maintain, repair, and upgrade the electrical systems that power our specialty food manufacturing operations.

What This Role Involves

As an Industrial Electrician in our food production facility, you'll be responsible for keeping electrical equipment operating reliably and safely every day. Your work involves diagnosing equipment failures quickly, performing routine preventive maintenance to avoid production shutdowns, and supporting the electrical systems that enable us to manufacture our premium olives, peppers, and sauces. This role requires flexibility to work weekends and overtime as production demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical equipment including motors, control panels, sensors, and lighting systems throughout the facility.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and minimize unplanned production downtime.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical wiring, conduit, and power distribution systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local electrical codes.
• Service production machinery including conveyors, filling equipment, labeling systems, packaging machines, and food processing equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley experience valued), variable frequency drives, HMI interfaces, and industrial control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Document all maintenance work using computerized maintenance management systems.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety regulations, and facility sanitation protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and reduce unexpected downtime.
• Participate in safety audits, root cause failure analysis, and corrective action processes.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial electrical experience, ideally in food or beverage manufacturing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, equipment repairs, and system installation.
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP standards, and food production sanitary design requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in time-critical production environments.
• Comfort working in and around industrial machinery, moisture, and active food production lines.
• Physical capability to lift 50 pounds regularly, work at elevated heights, operate in confined spaces, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Preferred qualifications include completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program, state electrical licensure or journeyman's card (California General Electrician certification especially valued), experience with Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers and SCADA systems, and bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
