Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced Senior Associate to lead data engineering initiatives on the Snowflake platform. You'll design and implement scalable data architectures, mentor junior engineers, and provide strategic advisory to clients navigating complex data modernisation projects. Your expertise will shape how our clients leverage cloud data platforms to drive business intelligence and operational efficiency.
Core Duties
- Design, develop, and optimise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes on Snowflake for enterprise clients
- Lead technical architecture discussions with clients to understand requirements and deliver bespoke data solutions
- Write efficient SQL, Python, and other code to transform raw data into actionable insights
- Oversee data governance, quality assurance, and performance tuning across projects
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to team capability development
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Stay current with Snowflake features, best practices, and emerging data engineering trends
Requirements
- Proven experience as a data engineer or similar technical role, with substantial Snowflake expertise
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala preferred)
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouse or lake solutions in cloud environments
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools, data modelling principles, and business intelligence platforms
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
