Associate Trader, Fixed Income

Russell, a Seattle-based investment firm, is hiring an Associate Trader for its Fixed Income division. This is a full-time position located in Seattle.

What This Role Involves

As an Associate Trader in Fixed Income, you'll operate in a dynamic trading environment where market expertise and analytical capability drive decision-making. You'll build hands-on trading experience while managing positions, tracking market conditions, and executing strategies aligned with your team's investment objectives across the fixed income landscape.

What You'll Do

• Execute fixed income trades and manage portfolios within designated risk limits
• Monitor bond markets, credit spreads, interest rates, and yield movements throughout trading sessions
• Analyze valuations, credit quality, and macroeconomic factors influencing fixed income securities
• Collaborate with senior traders and portfolio managers to research opportunities and market conditions
• Develop proficiency with trading platforms, real-time market data systems, and risk analytics tools
• Cultivate relationships with brokers and market participants in fixed income markets
• Contribute market insights and analysis during team trading discussions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or similar quantitative field
• Solid knowledge of fixed income securities, bond market structures, and trading mechanics
• Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities with precision and attention to detail
• Ability to quickly interpret financial data, market reports, and economic information
• Working proficiency with spreadsheet applications and financial analysis software
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team approach
