About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Health Educator to join their substance use prevention and education initiatives. This remote position serves communities across Wisconsin, supporting coalition work through grant-funded projects focused on promoting healthy behaviors and preventing disease.
The role requires residency in Wisconsin and involves approximately five on-site meetings and trainings per year. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, assessing community health needs, developing evidence-based education programs, and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the state.
Responsibilities
- Assess community health needs, assets, and capacity for health education programs
- Plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based health education initiatives designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and prevent substance use
- Conduct research related to health education and apply findings to program development
- Administer and manage health education programs, including resource allocation and grant compliance
- Obtain, develop, and disseminate health-related information using various communication modalities
- Apply continuous quality improvement processes to enhance program effectiveness
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with substance use coalitions and community stakeholders
- Advocate for health and health education within communities and policy environments
- Incorporate adult learning principles into all educational programming
- Develop operational plans and policies necessary to achieve health education goals and objectives
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Health Education, Wellness, Health Promotion, or related field
- Two (2) years of health education experience
- Must reside in Wisconsin
- Ability to attend on-site meetings and trainings approximately five times per year
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Community Health Education or Public Health
- Five (5) or more years of health education experience
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification
- Knowledge of quality improvement and performance management processes
- Experience working with substance use prevention programs or coalitions
