Head of Data / Tech / E-COM (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer brand in München that needs a hands-on technical leader to unify their data infrastructure and drive AI-first automation across the business.

You will own the consolidation of marketing, product, finance, and supply-chain data into a single cloud platform, enabling self-service BI and ending reliance on disconnected Excel workflows. Your mission is to deliver one source of truth that empowers every team to track their KPIs autonomously.

You will anchor production-ready AI use cases across five core functions—marketing, product development, supply chain, customer service, and finance—ranging from automated reporting to quality assurance and centralized financial dashboards. The goal is measurable reduction in manual effort.

As the interface between business stakeholders and technical execution, you will translate requirements from team leads and executive leadership into pragmatic, deployable solutions.

You will provide both technical and people leadership for a two-person shop team, prioritizing roadmaps, allocating resources, and developing your direct reports. Our client aims to bring e-commerce capability in-house and reduce agency dependency over time.

What We're Looking For

• Four to seven years of hands-on experience in data engineering and e-commerce, ideally direct-to-consumer
• Proven track record designing and deploying unified data architectures and self-service BI platforms end to end
• Demonstrated success launching AI-driven process automation into production independently
• A builder mindset: you are comfortable shipping results without a dedicated engineering team behind you
• Fluent German and willingness to work on-site in Oberhaching/München three days per week
• Bonus: experience in the Shopify ecosystem—Liquid templating, app integrations, APIs—will accelerate the in-house build-out
