General Manager, AI Business Unit

About This Opportunity

Our client, a confidential health technology organization, is launching a new AI-focused business unit and we are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead this zero-to-one initiative. This is a rare opportunity to build and run a standalone division with full commercial ownership, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Own complete commercial operations for the business unit including sales, marketing, and pricing strategy
• Carry full accountability for revenue targets and product adoption metrics
• Define and execute go-to-market strategy for enterprise AI products targeting healthcare and life sciences customers
• Recruit, structure, and lead a cross-functional business unit team
• Establish commercial operating rhythms including pipeline management, forecasting, and deal governance
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to align roadmap with market demand
• Report directly to executive leadership on business unit performance and strategic initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with direct ownership of commercial targets in healthcare or life sciences software
• Proven track record launching products from zero to one and scaling them commercially
• History of closing enterprise deals exceeding $300k in value
• Experience building and managing commercial teams and product-led growth strategies
• Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Right to work in the United Kingdom

Preferred qualifications:

• Background or strong interest in genetics, biomedical research, or bioinformatics
• Experience with AI or machine learning products in regulated industries
