The Hartford seeks a Senior Claim Representative/Consultant to manage complex general liability litigation cases across the Western and Eastern regions. Based in Springfield, Sangamon County, this full-time position offers the opportunity to directly impact claim resolution and deliver exceptional service to policyholders.

About the Role

You will lead the investigation and resolution of complex general liability claims, working closely with legal counsel and claimants. Your expertise in liability assessment, coverage analysis, and negotiation will be essential to resolving disputes fairly and efficiently. This role requires both detailed analytical work and strong stakeholder management across a diverse portfolio of cases.

What You'll Do

• Investigate complex general liability claims and assess coverage applicability
• Analyze policy language, liability exposure, and claim damages
• Communicate with policyholders, claimants, and legal counsel to gather information and negotiate resolutions
• Coordinate litigation strategy with external counsel and manage case progression
• Prepare comprehensive claim reports and coverage opinions
• Develop settlement recommendations and defend decisions within your authority
• Maintain thorough documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
