About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential digital media organization seeking a Gaming News and Guides Writer based in the Philippines. Our client operates multiple gaming-focused brands and is building a specialized content team to serve passionate gaming communities worldwide.
This is a fully remote role ideal for a writer who lives and breathes gaming culture and can translate that passion into helpful, engaging content that serves players throughout their gaming journeys.
Responsibilities
- Write 4-5 articles daily with heavy emphasis on guides and informational content that assists gamers
- Pitch articles based on trending topics discovered through analytics tools and hands-on gameplay experience
- Cover games comprehensively from launch to endgame, identifying relevant guide and wiki-style topics that help players progress
- Monitor gaming news cycles and pitch breaking news or short-form features with unique angles
- Write assigned articles from editorial staff pitches
- Maintain rigorous factual accuracy in all reporting
- Collaborate actively and communicate regularly with editorial team members
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience covering gaming news and guides (portfolio links required)
- High standard of written English with ability to produce clean copy
- Proficiency with WordPress, Trello, Slack, and similar industry-standard tools
- Strong visual sense for selecting attention-grabbing featured images
- Genuine curiosity about player behavior and commitment to producing quality content that deepens gaming engagement
- Willingness to immerse yourself in gaming communities to anticipate their coverage needs
- Specific passion areas within gaming highly valued (gacha games, cozy games, creature-collection titles, Double A games, or other niches)
- Cultural and social engagement with gaming trends and conversations
