Position Summary

As the Full-Time Nights RN – Neuroscience Unit at Baystatehealth, you will provide continuous overnight nursing care for patients with neurological needs at our Springfield, Massachusetts location. The role centers on vigilant monitoring, timely interventions, and seamless coordination so each patient receives consistent support throughout the night. You will help maintain stable care continuity during full-time night hours and contribute to positive outcomes in this specialized unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and track changes in patient status overnight.
• Administer prescribed medications and carry out ordered treatments with precision and timely documentation.
• Monitor vital signs, neurological responses, and overall condition continuously during night shifts.
• Partner with physicians, specialists, and fellow clinicians to adjust and execute individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, recovery steps, and self-care strategies when appropriate.
• Uphold safety standards, infection-prevention practices, and unit protocols in the Neuroscience Unit environment.
• Respond calmly and effectively to any urgent neurological changes that arise during full-time night coverage.
