Full-Time Faculty Assistant or Associate Professor of MSW Didactic & PPS Eligibi

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential higher education institution seeking a Full-Time Faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for their Master of Social Work program with California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential pathway. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track appointment beginning October 2026, open exclusively to candidates currently residing in California.

This fully remote role requires availability for collaboration during core hours from 9am to 2pm Pacific Time. You'll join a mission-driven academic community focused on delivering student-centered, career-relevant education to a diverse adult learner population through online modalities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, assess, and teach online courses within Social Work programs, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards
• Mentor and support students, adjunct faculty, staff, and program stakeholders to promote student success and program quality
• Participate in service to the discipline, profession, and institution through committee work and community engagement
• Contribute to ongoing program development, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate professional and collegial conduct that fosters mutual respect, transparent communication, and collaboration with faculty, staff, and leadership
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned in collaboration with academic leadership

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Earned Doctorate (PhD, DSW, or closely related field) in Social Work or related discipline from an accredited institution; ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion by start date
• Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
• Eligible to obtain or currently hold a California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential with authorization in School Social Work and Child Welfare and Attendance
• Minimum of two (2) years of post-MSW professional practice experience in social work
• Experience teaching in higher education, preferably in online asynchronous modalities
• Demonstrated knowledge of school social work, child welfare, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive services for diverse PK–12 student populations
• Commitment to student-centered teaching and supporting diverse adult learners
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Expertise in developing and delivering curriculum, assessments, and learning activities in online learning management systems
• Experience applying data-informed approaches to enhance student success and retention

Preferred Qualifications:

• Involvement in related professional and academic associations
• Experience practicing as a school social worker in a K–12 educational setting
• Current licensure as a clinical social worker (e.g., LCSW) or equivalent
• Familiarity with competency-based education and assessment aligned with CSWE standards
• Evidence of scholarly, professional, or community engagement activities
• Demonstrated ability to manage, support, and train adjunct faculty in an online environment

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $81,345–$88,522 annually. Offers are determined by factors including knowledge, skills, years and depth of experience, and internal equity considerations.
