Fractional CMO — Turning Marketing Strategy into Measurable Growth

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential professional services organization that provides fractional executive leadership to small businesses across multiple states. We're seeking an exceptionally experienced Fractional CMO to join their executive team in a full-time W-2 capacity.

This is not a traditional consulting role. You'll serve as the dedicated marketing partner to a curated portfolio of client relationships—setting strategy, building systems, coaching business owners, and driving measurable growth—without the burden of business development or client acquisition. The pipeline and support infrastructure are already in place.

Location: 100% Remote (Must reside in AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA)

Responsibilities

• Own brand strategy and market positioning for a portfolio of client organizations
• Design and oversee marketing execution across digital and traditional channels
• Establish performance metrics and KPIs tied to business outcomes
• Provide strategic coaching and advisory to business owners and internal marketing teams
• Drive data-informed decision-making and demonstrate measurable growth impact
• Build scalable marketing systems without the overhead of managing your own practice

What We're Looking For

Critical Requirements:

• 12+ years of senior marketing leadership experience
• 10+ years specifically holding the title of Chief Marketing Officer or Fractional CMO (not VP of Marketing, Head of Marketing, Director of Marketing, or similar titles)
• Demonstrated experience managing 2+ concurrent client relationships simultaneously (not sequentially) under the CMO or Fractional CMO title
• Direct experience advising small to mid-sized businesses with $5M–$30M+ in revenue as primary, ongoing clients
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent leadership experience
• Current authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must reside in one of the following states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, or WA

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in professional services, agency, or consulting environments
• Proven ability to coach non-marketing executives on growth strategy
• Strong analytical skills with experience translating metrics into actionable decisions

Please Note: This role requires the specific CMO or Fractional CMO title with sustained multi-client experience. VP, Director, or Head of Marketing titles—even with equivalent scope—do not meet the requirements. Similarly, a single interim CMO engagement or in-house CMO role at one company does not qualify without concurrent multi-client advisory work.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $110,000 – $182,000 per year (base salary plus performance-based compensation)
