Founding Product Designer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential adtech client in their search for a Founding Product Designer based in Berlin. Our client is a high-growth startup operating at exceptional velocity, ranked among Europe's fastest-expanding companies. They are building innovative user engagement platforms and seeking a designer who thrives in intense, fast-paced environments.

This is a founding-level role reporting to the Head of Design, where you will own end-to-end product experiences and shape design strategy across mobile-first products. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams in a fully in-office environment (5 days per week).

Responsibilities

• Lead the UI design process from concept to implementation, ensuring interfaces are visually compelling, intuitive, and aligned with user needs
• Own the complete design process from discovery through delivery, balancing speed, quality, and business impact
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to align design decisions with business goals and technical feasibility
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to validate and refine design approaches
• Drive design critiques, stakeholder discussions, and alignment sessions while clearly articulating design rationale
• Establish and maintain design systems that scale across the product

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience designing mobile-first products with a strong portfolio demonstrating impactful UI and UX work
• Outstanding visual design skills with exceptional attention to detail, hierarchy, and accessibility standards
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, effectively working across teams and presenting designs persuasively
• Data-driven mindset using research and analytics to guide decisions and measure success
• Strategic thinking beyond pure design execution—contributing to product direction and business alignment
• Ability to thrive in lean, iterative environments while maintaining high quality standards
• Technical awareness of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how it impacts design implementation
• Proactive, impact-driven approach with continuous initiative to improve solutions and raise team standards
• Bonus: Experience with motion design and gamified interface elements

Pay

This role offers €90,000 – €120,000 annually plus equity participation. Additional benefits at the client include transport subsidy, meals, language learning support, and fitness membership.
