Founding Full-stack Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded early-stage technology company operating in the conversational AI and digital commerce space. This Paris-based organization is building infrastructure that enables brands to reach consumers through next-generation AI interfaces. They've secured significant seed funding and are already serving millions of monthly interactions for over 150 enterprise clients.

Our client is seeking a Founding Full-stack Software Engineer to join their small, high-ownership engineering team. This is a hybrid role based in Paris.

Responsibilities

• Ship features end-to-end that reach millions of users—from data model and API design through to user-facing interfaces
• Scale and harden backend systems as traffic, integrations, and product complexity grow
• Shape the architecture of the codebase—enforce clean boundaries, maintain modularity, and make architectural decisions that support team scaling
• Move fluidly across the stack (backend, frontend, infrastructure, data) based on highest-impact priorities each week
• Take full ownership of features from conception through production deployment
• Contribute to maintaining high code quality standards and clean architecture as the platform scales

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong academic background, proven professional track record, or hands-on entrepreneurial experience
• 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with structured backend architectures (Domain-Driven Design, hexagonal architecture, or similar patterns)
• Track record of owning features end-to-end: data model → API → frontend → deployment
• Comfortable with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
• Thrives in ambiguity and 0-to-1 environments—ex-founders or entrepreneurial mindsets are strongly preferred
• Professional proficiency in both French and English

Core technical stack:

• TypeScript, NestJS, React
• PostgreSQL, Redis
• Docker
• Clean architecture patterns (hexagonal, ports and adapters)

Bonus experience (appreciated but not required):

• Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery), Terraform
• Vector databases, embeddings, LLM integrations
• CQRS patterns
• TanStack (Router, Query, Table), shadcn/ui, Tailwind, Vite
• Durable workflow systems (Inngest, Temporal)
