Forward Deployed Engineer, Python

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential cybersecurity technology company in their search for a Forward Deployed Engineer with deep Python expertise. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and customer success, working directly with enterprise clients to deliver technical solutions, custom integrations, and implementation support.

You'll serve as the technical bridge between customers and product engineering, writing code to solve real-world security challenges while building the foundation for a professional services practice. This is a remote position requiring 20-30% travel for onsite customer engagements across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical advisor for 5-8 enterprise accounts, building trusted relationships with engineering and security teams
• Develop custom code, scripts, and integrations to address complex implementation requirements
• Lead technical onboarding sessions, training workshops, and hands-on implementation guidance for customer teams
• Create custom security rules, policies, and configurations tailored to customer environments
• Coordinate technical rollouts and integrations across enterprise-scale deployments
• Build standardized documentation, best practices guides, and reusable implementation playbooks
• Translate customer feedback into actionable product insights for internal engineering teams
• Conduct onsite technical engagements including security assessments and advanced configuration optimization
• Review and optimize alert configurations to reduce noise while improving security coverage
• Proactively identify technical challenges and develop solutions that accelerate product adoption
• Support development of billable professional services offerings and advanced consulting capabilities

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Python
• Demonstrated experience building integrations, APIs, webhook implementations, and production automation scripts
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Customer-first mindset with genuine passion for problem-solving and relationship building
• Strong understanding of modern development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of security tools, vulnerability management, or software composition analysis preferred
• Familiarity with open source ecosystems and supply chain security concepts
• Comfort with regular travel and serving as the technical face of the organization during customer engagements
• Experience with scripting and automation for DevOps or security use cases
