Financial Services – Customer Tax Operations and Reporting – Senior Manager

EY seeks a Senior Manager to lead our Customer Tax Operations and Reporting function at our Illinois Medical District office in Chicago. In this full-time position, you'll oversee tax compliance processes, manage client reporting deliverables, and lead a talented team in delivering accurate, timely tax services to our financial services clients.

About the Role

As a Senior Manager in Customer Tax Operations and Reporting, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of tax compliance, documentation, and client reporting services. You'll drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory adherence, and build lasting client relationships while developing high-performing teams. This leadership position combines hands-on tax expertise with strategic oversight, positioning you at the center of EY's tax service delivery.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor tax operations and reporting teams, setting performance standards and fostering professional development
• Oversee customer tax compliance processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance
• Manage preparation and delivery of tax documentation, filings, and client reporting across diverse financial services clients
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce delivery cycles
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax strategy and compliance matters
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including audit, advisory, and technology to deliver integrated solutions
• Monitor tax law changes and regulatory updates, ensuring team knowledge and client compliance

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field
• CPA or equivalent professional certification
• 7+ years of progressive experience in tax operations, tax compliance, or tax reporting within financial services
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and delivering client-focused results
• Thorough knowledge of tax regulations, compliance frameworks, and documentation requirements
• Proficiency with tax software platforms and enterprise systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills
• Track record of driving operational improvements and cost efficiencies
