About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software investment organization with a growing European portfolio. We're seeking a Finance Business Partner to own the financial function across multiple software businesses in France.

This is not a pure reporting role. You'll take end-to-end accountability for accounting integrity, build and lead a regional finance team, and serve as a strategic partner to business unit leaders—challenging growth plans, coaching on commercial decisions, and ensuring resources compound where they matter most.

The scope deliberately exceeds what a typical FP&A or controller seat carries at this stage: you'll run the books, lead the team, and shape how each business thinks about sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Own accuracy and timeliness of monthly management reporting (P&L, KPIs, operating metrics) across your portfolio of software businesses
• Build and manage a team of local financial experts to meet French statutory and regulatory compliance obligations
• Guide finance and accounting teams through migration onto a unified NetSuite instance
• Prepare and defend annual budgets and rolling forecasts that incorporate strategic initiatives and long-term expectations
• Produce quarterly review packs for executive leadership (CEO, CFO, COO level)
• Coach business unit leaders on financial acumen—ensure they understand and apply key operating ratios, not just report against them
• Challenge and support leaders in implementing prescribed revenue frameworks
• Identify operating efficiencies, track headcount accurately, and manage overhead with intention
• Partner on expense management and resource allocation decisions that fuel growth rather than simply control costs
• Play an active integration role for newly acquired businesses—systems, data architecture, and reporting design
• Collaborate with strategic business partners on day-to-day relationships across the region

What We're Looking For

• Ambition to use this role as a stepping stone toward a CFO or Controller position in a larger group or standalone business
• Strong technical foundation in accounting practices and controls—you can run a clean close and hold third-party providers accountable, not just review their work
• Commercial instinct: able to sit across from a business leader and challenge their growth plan, not just report whether they hit targets
• Completed university education plus a professional finance qualification (CA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
• 5+ years in Business Controlling, FP&A, or Finance Business Partnering roles
• Proven ability to lead and build a team of regional finance specialists
• Comfort operating in a decentralized, multi-entity, PE-backed environment with businesses at varying stages of maturity
• Fluent in English and French; effective communicator from bookkeeper to C-suite level
• Ideally, background in fast-growing technology or SaaS companies
• Willingness to travel occasionally

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive within the French market for this level of scope and responsibility. The role includes performance-based bonus potential and remote flexibility.
