Embedded Software Engineer IoT & Connectivity (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector, seeking an Embedded Software Engineer – IoT & Connectivity to join their technical team in München. This is a chance to work at the intersection of embedded systems, IoT connectivity, and payment infrastructure in a rapidly growing industry.

In this role, you will ensure that charging infrastructure remains reliably connected and operational. You'll work on embedded software, IoT connectivity solutions, and payment systems, contributing significantly to the stability and evolution of the technical platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for routers, connectivity solutions, and payment terminals
• Manage firmware updates and rollouts across the installed device fleet
• Ensure reliable communication between charging stations, routers, and payment systems
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to networking, mobile connectivity, and VPN
• Build solutions for monitoring, remote maintenance, and device automation
• Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and operations teams on infrastructure development

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field
• Several years of experience in embedded software development
• Very strong skills in Python and C or C++
• Experience with embedded systems and hardware-level software development
• Knowledge of IoT, cloud technologies, and networked devices
• Experience with firmware management and device fleet operations is advantageous
• Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, or HTTPS
• Experience with VPN technologies like WireGuard, OpenVPN, or IPsec
• Knowledge of LTE and 5G communication is a plus
• Very good German language skills and good English proficiency (written and spoken)
