This full-time support position offers an opportunity to make a direct, positive impact on student safety, wellness, and school community at one of our four elementary schools serving Morris County, New Jersey.
About the Role
As a Cafeteria and Recess Aide, you'll play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming environments where students can refuel and recharge during their school day. You'll support smooth meal service operations while fostering positive student interactions and maintaining supervised spaces during unstructured time.
What You'll Do
- Supervise elementary students during lunch periods, ensuring orderly conduct and adherence to school expectations
- Support food service staff with meal distribution, setup, and cleanup operations
- Monitor student safety and behavior during recess, both indoors and outdoors
- Respond to student needs and report concerns to teachers or administrators
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic cafeteria environment
- Model positive behavior and reinforce school culture and discipline expectations
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to support school policies and follow directions
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and be active during recess
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Successful completion of background check clearance
