About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking an Economics PhD-level professional to develop sophisticated assessment materials. This is a remote contract role based in Germany, offering 10+ hours per week of flexible engagement.

Responsibilities
- Author original economics and finance questions that test deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall
- Ensure all questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined with complete problem statements
- Rate difficulty levels across Medium (introductory undergraduate), Hard (advanced undergraduate), and Expert (post-graduate and above)
- Develop one correct answer alongside nine plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives designed to challenge expert-level solvers
- Write detailed step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions with clear intermediate steps in markdown format
- Provide 1–5 academic references per question from peer-reviewed journals and university repositories
- Perform verification tasks: identify and flag clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability issues while justifying editorial changes
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- PhD or doctoral candidate in Economics, Finance, or closely related quantitative field
- Master's degree may be considered for candidates with exceptional depth in specific subdomains
- Strong command of graduate-level economic theory, quantitative methods, and financial modeling
- Excellent written English with ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic research experience
- CFA or CPA certification
- Financial industry expertise
