Director Strategic Operations (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization based in Frankfurt am Main seeking a Director of Strategic Operations to work directly with executive leadership. This is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to shape how strategic priorities translate into measurable execution across a growing technology company.

In this position, you will serve as a force multiplier for the C-suite, building the operating discipline, governance frameworks, and transparency that enable leadership to focus on high-value opportunities. You'll own the leadership operating system, drive annual planning processes, and ensure clear accountability across strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve leadership governance cadence, including executive meetings, leadership forums, and strategic offsites
• Drive agenda planning, decision tracking, and follow-through with clear ownership and timely escalation of cross-functional dependencies
• Lead annual planning processes in collaboration with Finance and functional leaders, translating organizational goals into coherent functional plans with measurable targets
• Track strategic priorities and value creation initiatives, creating visibility on progress, milestones, dependencies, and execution risks
• Prepare executive meetings, customer engagements, strategic discussions, and leadership communications while coordinating resulting actions
• Coordinate high-quality materials, reporting, and follow-up for Board of Directors and private equity sponsor interactions
• Strengthen organizational alignment through clear executive messaging and AI-enabled ways of working

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in business operations, executive office, transformation, program management, consulting, Chief of Staff, or comparable leadership-adjacent role
• Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional initiatives and working closely with executive leadership teams
• Excellent planning, organizational, and program management skills with disciplined follow-through and strong execution focus
• Strategic judgement with the ability to understand business priorities quickly, connect strategy with execution, and influence without formal authority
• Analytical and financial fluency, including confidence working with financial models, KPI packages, and board-level information
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to turn complex information into clear, decision-ready executive materials and presentations
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with high ownership and sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a SaaS, software, or technology environment
• Experience with Board or private equity sponsor preparation, reporting, and governance
• Fluency in German
• Experience improving leadership productivity through AI-enabled tools and efficient operating rhythms
