Director of Development-Mission Critical

We are representing a confidential national concrete construction organization in their search for a Director of Development – Mission Critical. Our client operates across the United States with significant presence in data center, mission critical industrial, and complex infrastructure markets. This is a remote-eligible role with national scope and exceptional compensation potential.

You'll be positioned to shape market strategy, build strategic partnerships, and secure high-value opportunities nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in data center and mission critical construction through market research, networking, and strategic outreach
• Develop and maintain relationships with end users, design teams, and key industry stakeholders
• Manage opportunities through the complete sales and preconstruction lifecycle
• Lead strategic sales efforts including pipeline management, CRM activity, proposals, and client presentations
• Coordinate design-build and design-assist pursuits, defining scope, assumptions, and clarifications
• Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop competitive, risk-managed solutions
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth project turnover from pursuit through execution
• Develop strategies that address client challenges and differentiate our client in the mission critical market
• Stay current on data center construction trends, emerging opportunities, and evolving customer requirements
• Build strategic partnerships connecting regional teams with appropriate clients and market partners
• Contribute to long-term revenue growth and market expansion

What We're Looking For

• 10–15+ years of construction industry experience with significant background in business development, project development, or preconstruction
• Strong experience in mission critical, data center, concrete construction, or similarly complex construction sectors
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred
• Proven track record identifying opportunities and securing strategic relationships and partnerships
• Experience with strategic planning, preconstruction processes, and cross-functional team leadership
• Strong understanding of risk management and project delivery methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex customer and project requirements
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, design teams, estimating, operations, and executive leadership
• Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, projects, and business development activities

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $200,000 – $225,000 base salary

Our client offers performance-based bonuses and additional incentive plans with total compensation potential exceeding $300,000. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package and the flexibility to be based anywhere in the United States.
