About the Role
As Director, Early Clinical Development - Nephrology/Immunology (N/I), you will steer the Early Clinical Development (ECD) work that fuels the expansion of Otsuka's discovery and early-stage portfolio within the Early Development Organization (EDO) at OPDC. Reporting to the ECD Nephrology/Immunology Therapeutic Area Head, you will serve as a strategic leader with full accountability for shaping early clinical development strategy from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct early clinical development initiatives that advance Otsuka's discovery and early-phase nephrology and immunology pipeline.
- Own the end-to-end early clinical development strategy, guiding programs across their full lifecycle.
- Provide scientific and clinical leadership across cross-functional teams within the Early Development Organization.
- Partner closely with the ECD Nephrology/Immunology Therapeutic Area Head to align programs with broader organizational goals.
- Contribute to the continued growth and maturity of Otsuka's early development pipeline.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in early clinical development, with a focus on nephrology and/or immunology therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to define and drive clinical development strategy at a senior, decision-making level.
- Strong scientific acumen paired with the leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience operating within discovery and early-phase pharmaceutical pipelines.
